Glass ionomer cement type I has high compressive strength, a low heat of reaction, a small coefficient of thermal expansion and good transparency. Its marginal seal is good, and in the mouth it is stable, insoluble, non-staining and non-irritant. Handling performance is good and the working time is ample. It is used for filling and restoring class III and class V cavities and wedge-shaped defects, and for bases and cavity linings. Shades 2# and 3#; packing 35 g powder plus 20 ml liquid per box.
