Mega+ ceramic inlays are used for local posterior defects, caries restoration and occlusal reconstruction in severely worn dentition. An inlay is a restoration cemented inside a prepared cavity to restore the form and function of the damaged tooth: the tooth is first prepared into a defined cavity shape and the restoration is then made to fit that cavity. The official site lists three advantages: minimal tooth preparation that preserves the outer tooth form and reduces pulpal irritation; protection of thin walls, weak cusps and cracks against cusp fracture and vertical tooth fracture; and a natural shade that blends with the tooth structure.
