The dental separating agent uses high-quality alginate as its main raw material and gives good separation. Its viscosity is moderate, which makes it easy to spread; the bright colour lets the technician see whether the coating is even and whether any area has been missed. The resulting film is tough, and the separated surface is smooth, which simplifies the later grinding and polishing of a denture base. It is mainly used to form an isolating film between plaster and plaster or between plaster and resin so that the materials do not bond. When a denture base is being made it is painted onto the plaster model to form a durable film that prevents the resin from adhering to the plaster during curing, so that resin and plaster separate quickly.
